Hello!

I am an interfaith chaplain working in an elderly care facility in Pennsylvania. Many of our residents express feelings of loneliness and I feel would do well with snail mail pen pals who feel similarly, with whom they can write.

The tricky part is that most of the seniors I work with do not have access to the internet and cannot use a computer, so they cannot work with this website.

If you would be interested in exchanging letters or cards with a senior, I would love to get your information. I can't promise a match, but I can do my absolute best to facilitate this correspondence.

Thank you,

Holly

Hello Holly,

My name is Sara and I currently live in Utah right now.  I am a college student, but before starting college I used to work in an elderly care facility as well.  I really enjoyed the time I spent learning about and connecting with the residents that lived there.  I miss it a lot, actually.  If any of your seniors wouldn't mind being pen pals with a younger adult, I would love to exchange letters with someone!  Please let me know and I can give you more information about myself.

Thank you,

Sara

Hi! My name is Raye and I would love to be someone's pen pal if I'm a good fit. I'm not religious, but I don't have any issues with religion (just wanted to throw that out there in case it's a potential issue for anyone I might write). I'm 27, a graduate student in English, and I love handwriting letters. My grandmother was in an elderly care facility before she passed away a few years ago, and one of my favorite things was getting to know her friends there--especially those who didn't receive many visitors. If there's anything else you'd like to know, please send me a message, and I'd be happy to talk more about myself to see if you think it might work!

Cheers,
Raye

Hey, I’m a 27 year old Medical Assistant in NY, I saw a website that linked me here and I love the idea of being a pen pal for a senior. I wish someone would do this for my grandma should she ever need it, no one should ever be lonely.

Hope to hear back soon!

I would love to help someone have a friend. I could write twice a month for sure, maybe once once a week. No one should ever feel alone if they've asked for connection. I am 37 years old, my son is grown and moved out, I live on a tree farm in rural Pennsylvania and I love dogs. Please let me know next steps if someone would like to be a phone or pen pal with me.

Hello Holly,
I am from Philadelphia , but my husband and I were relocated to Massachusetts four years ago. Despite being social and outgoing people, we have not made any friends in Mass. I know it is not the same loneliness that a senior who has lost most of their peers and family goes through, but I can identify with them on some level. My grandmother just passed away in April, and she was my very best friend. I miss her dearly, and I miss the companionship of someone from a wiser generation[wink] I would love to exchange letters with someone if you see me as a match. Thank you so much,
Warmest regards,
Alison

Hello! My name is Aubrey. I'm 32 years old and on disability right now so I'm also feeling very lonely. I would love to be a pen pal to a senior. I just lost my dad a few weeks ago, he was in hospice and I'm struggling with the loss. I wasn't able to visit him very much when he was in assisted living and I have a lot of guilt. Sorry to dump all the personal stuff on here, just wanted to be honest about why I'm here. I want to make up for what I lost with my dad. I want to make someone happy. Our seniors deserve it. Please let me know if I can help out. 😉

I would really like to correspond with a senior. I am not religious personally but have no qualms about it. I'm a 44 year old proud mom of 3 adult children who are LGBTQ.  I lost my mother at the age of 10 and was raised by my grandmother and great-grandmother. Both passed away about 7 years ago. I miss that connection so much. If you have a fit for me, I'd love to be connected.

I’m trying to arrange a service project for a group of 11-12 year old 6th graders. There are 24 of them, I think. If you’re interested in getting letters, they can write the first one around the 22nd of December. Of that works, please let me know where to send them. My email is keiralynne@earthlink.net.
